#BringBackTheTravelers #SaveTheTravelers, Please!

So I get that Katy is busy with school and all, and I get that almost no one gets on here anymore. I also get that sometimes you just aren't inspired to write stories, so you don't for a long time, and then after a while they just never get finished (what do you think happens to everything I start writing, oh that's right they just sit on my computer where no one can find them, because they never get finished!).
But I also feel like if you post part of a story on your blog for the world to read and fall in love in with the characters that you should not just leave said loved characters in terrible circumstances never to be saved. All fictional characters deserve an end, whether good, bad, or just down right terrible. And all readers that are in love in with said fictional characters deserve to get to read said ending, whether it be good, bad or just down right terrible. I also feel that "Her torch revealed a long, straight tunnel on the other side." is not an ending, if it was it'd be worse then down right terrible. I mean, what's on the other side of the tunnel? Do the people that they're trying to escape from find the tunnel and follow them?
So anyways all this to say that I understand that a couple months ago Katy said she was in a rut with writing the Travelers, but I also feel that after almost two years it's time the Travelers returned and got an ending. I alsooooo happen to know that someone is on break till the end of January and surely that's enough time get out of a rut and at least start towards an ending.
In the mean time……. to help you get past writers block to help you get out of your rut to help you write more, to help be sure your fans don't get mad and stop talking to you, and to be sure that Taylor, Frank, Falcon, Rita, and Thoren and get the ending they deserve here's a video all about how to get over writers block! ;)

P.S. What I really want for Christmas is for you to bring back the Travelers. I know you can't really wrap that up with a bow on top, but all the same…if you did finish it you could, cause you could print it off and then wrap it up with a bow on top. Also I realize that you probably won't be able to finish it by the end of break but even just a short part 16 would be am amazing! Also in case you forget what happened last, here's a hint. ;)

The Adventures of a First Semester College Student

Most of my time lately has been taken up with college. So, why not write about it? Not like much else notable has taken place in my life lately. OK, so I'll start with 10 things you should know about college:
1) Apparently, a phone is a college student's best friend. You'll have trouble making friends because of this. When all else fails...
2) Talk to the guys! The guys are usually friendlier than girls who still tend to (yes, even in college) form snobby little cliques. However, try to scope out the guys who seem nice!!! haha.
3) Be aware that as hard as you study, there will always be those people who come in on the day of the midterm, and, pulling out their notes, groan, "Oh, darn, I gotta study all this now..." This is when you pat yourself on the back for a weekend well-spent.
4) Always have snacks in your backpack!! You don't want to be snackless during a long day (or a long couple of hours over/near a dinner hour. Remember that when you're hungry, your brain is sending messages to you that it needs something to keep on working the best it can. You always want to have a fully-functioning brain for class if possible!
5) If you want to be friendly to someone even if they are saying something like, "Awww man I did NOT read that whole thing, it was just too long!", laugh and say "Yeah it was long..." or something like that. I wouldn't really recommend turning to them and saying, "Oh really? I thought it was absolutely wonderful and intriguing and I even read it a second time like the professor suggested." Even if all this is true, all this will do is make people think you're being uppity.  :P I wanted to tell this one girl once that I had read the whole article when she was saying how long it was, but I didn't...instead I just laughed and said, "Yeah it was long, hahaha." I didn't want to sound like I was being holier than thou. Know when to speak and what to say!
6) When you're riding a bike on campus, just always keep in mind that you have to be extra careful in the age of Looking down at your cell phone while walking around a busy public area.
7) Watch out for trucks and mopeds in pedestrian/bike areas. (Yes, I know this sounds crazy.)
8) Figure out when are the best times of day for each type of studying you need to do. Figure out when you want to read texts for the following week. For instance, I use the weekend (in part) for getting all/most of my readings read for my two classes with a lot of reading. Then I'm all set!
9) Make time to stop and get ice cream or something else yummy sometimes when you're on campus. This generally makes you feel better about anything: "It's okay I have to read several chapters, rewrite a paper, and study for two midterms! This ice cream is delicious!" Yeah, it's weird, but it works.
10) When you're studying and you get super-stressed, realize that you may have to step back for a few minutes and let yourself think through it quietly...get some tea, have a snack, watch some youtube videos. This always helps me.
Speaking of which...I have studying to do! Ciao! Adios! Bye!

what's been going on and other random things...

I am sorry I hardly ever write on here anymore. On the other hand, blogs don't appear to be very popular at the moment...at least, mine doesn't! I can chalk that up to being my fault, probably. Oh well...
I am not trying to give excuses or anything but I have been very busy ever since August 27th. That was the day my world got turned upside-down and rotated and all other kinds of things. That's right: I was taken to a planet with zero gravity and purple aliens. Nope! I started college! (and...if you think my joke there was lame...well...that's your right). At ANY rate...
College has been a whirlwind of many positive and negative events...and...for now I don't really feel like saying anymore!
This year has been a year of change for me. I...
  • got into college
  • graduated homeschool/high school
  • got to meet some of my best friends in person finally
  • made friends with Twilight. (ME??? yep.)
  • Seen some pretty awesome movies (that's not really a change...but w/e...)
  • maybe, just maybe am on my way to making some new friends on campus.
  • Got my hair cut! (with one of my best friends!!) and donated it to Locks of Love which I've wanted to do for a long time.
Finally, I apologize to those of you whose blogs I follow. I have not been good about visiting regularly, making comments, etc. I really have no good excuse and should consider being a better friend and...idk...COMMUNICATING?? :)
bye for now, guys. :)

what's been going on :)

So I haven't come on here in a while to say what's been going on with me lately. The two most exciting things are that in 15 days I'm going with my mom to visit my awesome friends!!!! The other exciting thing is that I'm turning 18 this Saturday!!!!!!!! Pretty crazy, right??

Last week I went to Orientation at the university where I'm going this fall. It went pretty well. The best thing that came out of it was that I'm sort of signed up for classes. Sort of because I still need one more class but I can't add that til July because of how I chose to do it; I started to feel totally brain-dead when I was signing up for classes and couldn't find my one more class so I decided to wait 'til later to add it. I had a really good Orientation leader, so that was nice. I've heard stories from my brothers about annoying orientation leaders so it was nice to have one that wasn't totally annoying.

So this Sunday I'm giving the sermon at my church at both services. This is my first actual sermon I've given since getting my Local Lay Speaker certification last fall. So, hopefully that will all go well; any thoughts and prayers are appreciated!!! :)

Oh yeah, the other thing is that I graduated around the middle of May! Pretty excited about that! Mostly glad to just my finals done though! :) Seriously though, it's a big deal and pretty weird to be done with high school.

Now I will say goodbye & I hope you don't get bored reading about me--because, enough about me! How are YOU PEOPLE?? :)

College! Yay...and...AAAAH!

Let's face it, all of us teens who are getting old enough to be thinking about college: it's scary!! It's exciting, yes, but also scary! Suddenly it's like we're changing at a faster pace than before; we're thinking about what it's going to be like not to be in high school anymore. Before you know it, you're faced with a lot of big decisions.

Which college shall I go to???

AAAHH!! Should I take the SAT (or replace with another standardized test!) again??

Oh no! I don't know what I want to study!!

I don't feel like getting in my application(s). It sounds like too much work!

My answers to these questions were split between easy and difficult.
My answer to question one was easy, because I wanted to go to Uconn. I know, though, that some people have a hard time choosing which colleges to apply to, and ultimately, which one they want to study at.
Question 2: I felt like I could do a better job if I took the SAT again, and I did do a better job! So--my advice? If your instinct is saying you could do better, take the test again; you won't regret it.
The "what to study" question is difficult! I am down as a pre-teaching major for Uconn, as I am thinking about studying special ed and possibly social work (which would necessitate grad school). I'm not sure, though, if any of this is actually what I want to do! I might change the major once, twice, who knows? I think the important thing is that you choose SOMETHING you MIGHT want to do, and try it out, or if, as you're thinking it over, consider changing it if suddenly you think, "Geez, I REALLY don't want to major in that!" Also, you can always change your major after you start college! Plenty of people do this.
The answer to question 4 is, get down and just fill out those applications! I ended up doing early decision for Uconn and was VERY happy I did so, even though I got started a bit later than I should have. I have already gotten their decision back, and now I don't have to worry about getting it in later. The applications aren't that hard once you just get to work on them.
Just thought I'd talk a bit about my own experience as far as getting ready for college, etc. I hope this is helpful for anyone else who is facing the "YAY! COLLEGE! COLLEGE? SCARY!" period of life. :)
