Christmas Is All In The Heart - Steven Curtis Chapman

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs (by one of my favorite singers!) and I thought the part about it not being about the snow that may or may not fall was fitting for this snow-less Christmas. ;)

Don't Lose Your Focus!

As Christmas draws near, I find myself running myself ragged at times. What with making sure everything is ready for the holiday, and doing everything else that I usually do, such as school, it can be easy to become emotionally drained--and certainly sometimes physically exhausted! It's all worth it when Christmas arrives, and don't get me wrong! I love everything about Christmas. I just think that it's easy to lose focus, and become emotionally exhausted at the same time. So what do you do when you suddenly realize you're exhausted and stressed? I think it's important to make sure you have time to just relax during all of the mayhem that accompanies Christmas. After all, Christmas is NOT about the presents or the mayhem. So what is it about? Well, you should know. You just need to make sure you keep your focus so you don't totally forget what it is about.
Early Feliz Navidad--remember that 'Christmas' means 'coming of Christ'. :)

Women's Choir Christmas Concert

Just wanted to make a short post telling everyone that our Women's Choir concert was yesterday afternoon and it went well!! If I ever get ahold of any good recordings, I will be sharing them with you!!!! :)
We also participated in a Jazz concert on Saturday, in which we sang two of our pieces.

Christmas music, continued! :)

Just wanted to say I'm listening to a new Christmas album right now. It's the Michael Buble Christmas album...normally, he's not one of my favorite singers, but I decided to give his Christmas album a try. I'm enjoying it, so yes, I recommend it! :)

Christmas music

Wait. Isn't it too early for Christmas music? Well, maybe! That hasn't stopped me from listening to it recently, though...including today! hehe...The truth is, I love Christmas music, and lately I've been enjoying listening to it once in a while. My favorite Christmas album is probably MercyMe's Christmas album. They took a bunch of awesome Christmas songs, mostly ones that are really well-known, and rocked them up (Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree is on it too...and that one doesn't need to be rocked up that much but still I love their version of it!) Anyway, who else listens to Christmas music off-season? What are your favorite Christmas albums/songs?
I also am excited about singing Christmas carols and playing Christmas music on the piano! I have to wait a bit longer for that though.........;)

Wishing You All a Very Merry Christmas!

You might think this is just a bit early, since it's still Christmas Eve, but I think it's soon enough, and I think you're more likely to see this if I put it up before it's actually Christmas!!! :) So.....MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!! I hope all of you have a WONDERFUL Christmas! Feliz Navidad! And for tonight, Feliz Nochebuena!!!!!! :)

singing

Hey everyone!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know not everyone who sees this post necessarily celebrates Thanksgiving, so I'll just say, hope you had a good day yesterday!!! :)
Sunday is the beginning of the Advent season (yay!). We have an extra Festival Chorus rehearsal Sunday evening.....it will be shorter than Monday rehearsals. Next weekend, I and some of the the other FC singers get to help our conductor with her children's choir. She was going to be missing some of her best singers on concert day. She asked some of the people in Festival Chorus for help. So, next weekend: two concerts. Dec. 3rd is dress rehearsal for the children's choir, Dec. 4th is dress rehearsal for Festival Chorus, and concert for children's choir, and Sunday, Dec. 5th, is the Festival Chorus concert. Whew! :) What a tiring weekend it will be.
Happy-Almost-Advent! :)
