Christmas Is All In The Heart - Steven Curtis Chapman
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs (by one of my favorite singers!) and I thought the part about it not being about the snow that may or may not fall was fitting for this snow-less Christmas. ;)

first snow
sO since Katy always posts about their first snow fall of the year...I decided to post about our first snow of the year. Out here in the Midwest we've been waiting for snow for months and all we've seen so far is a couple flurries, which don't really count as the first snow fall since they don't stick. Leading up to today it's been FREEZING cold and the weather people on tv have been talking about how we might get a little...but then we don't. and then all of sudden on a day with only a 20 percent chance of snow...I get woken up by everyone trying to be the first to tell me that we have like half an inch of snow! And it's keep snowing all day! :) Which makes me happy! :)
So anyway here are a couple pix! :)

Snow...continued!
It's beginning to look a lot like...Christmas? Here it is a day before Halloween, and our yard looks like a winter wonderland! Well...the snow is melting now, but you get the point! The snow brought down a lot of branches, and fifty percent of our town is without power. Thankfully, we still have power. We have our work cut out for us, though; there's a big mess of branches in our yard, plus a small tree which may have gotten killed. Last evening we had a bit of a scary experience, hearing tree limbs creak...and my brother and dad had to go out to remove a huge branch that fell across our driveway. It fell on our mailbox but didn't actually destroy the mailbox...not sure what damage it did exactly. We're extremely thankful we still have power, however, and that no limbs or trees fell on our house or barn. Still a few limbs that are hanging haphazardly from trees (haphazardly, a great word!) When my mom measured the snow earlier this morning, there were six inches. I think there's less even now, though. Anyway that's how it's going with us! :)

Snow?
Snow? In October? Well, last night we did get a small amount of snow! It melted very quickly but it was there all the same! I didn't get any pictures of it, but tomorrow night we may be getting another storm, so I might get pictures of that for you guys. I just hope our power won't get knocked out!
I for one wouldn't mind if the snow held off until at least late November!

My going forth and conquering! ;)
As Katy told me to do, I went forth and conquered! The snow on our roof over the porch that is! ;) It was fun! Although that might be because I did a lot of playing around while working. lol but here are some pix!

the forecast on Yahoo for yesterday! :D
my snow angle before I started working...it looks weird...
me w/ the shovel, ready to conquer!
me and my snowperson! I can't decide if it's a snowman or a snowwoman... but notice the AZ hat? ;)
the pile of snow that is partly from the roof! I took it from the roof, later I want to go jump into that pile of snow b/c it's really big! :D
I'll post more pix of the snow later, but I don't want this post to get TOO long... :D Anyway I hope you all enjoyed the pix!

lots of snow
It's been snowing all day practically!! In New England, it's possible to get this much snow, but it's not exactly the norm. Well, in addition to snow we already had, we now have a bunch more piled on top of that, adding up to an amount of snow that basically reached my knee. It's really crazy. But cool! To get a better idea of what it looks like, here's some pictures! :)

The barn got dumped on quite a bit!

It's quite the job walking through such deep snow where there aren't any paths.

Looks like a winter wonderland...
Shoveling all this is quite a job!
