Vacation

Hi everyone! My family and I got back from Mt. Desert Island in Maine, yesterday afternoon, after spending a week there. None of us have ever been there before, and boy is it beautiful there! The picture to the left is when we were walking out to Bar Island; you have to walk it while the tide is so that the bar is exposed, and you have a three hour window from when it first appears to when it disappears. The picture at the bottom is at Acadia National Park. Many beautiful views of the landscape combined with the Atlantic Ocean.
We had a good vacation, never did go swimming in the ocean...the one beach we went to a couple times, Sand Beach, had a warning posted there about it being dangerous (the waves are very wild and big). With nearly nothing to break down the waves further out in the ocean, the waves are much bigger, and wilder. However, the warning didn't stop most people from swimming. I wouldn't risk my life to swim in there (some of us did wade though! :) but...hey, it's their choice.
Anyway, we're home now and glad to be here.
